SWiPE Research Consortium organises a concluding seminar at the Finlandia Hall on Friday 16th August 2019. The seminar will be organised as a part of the WORK2019 – Real Work in the Virtual World – conference.

The keynote speaker of the seminar is Professor Martin Kenney from the University of California. Martin Kenney is an internationally renowned and respected platform economy and innovation researcher, and he has been closely involved in the SWiPE research project. Martin Kenney is particularly interested in the impact of technology and digital platforms on industrial structures, new work and changing employee relationships.
Martin Kenney’s speech Dependent Entrepreneurship in the Platform Economy: Precarity in the Gods’ Ecosystems is followed by a panel discussion. The panel titled Digital Work and the Platform Economy is operated by the SWiPE consortium leader, professor Anne Kovalainen together with the sub-project leaders Seppo Poutanen (Univeristy of Turku), Petri Rouvinen (Etla, Avance Attorneys) and Laura Seppänen (Finnish Institution of Occupational Health). Professor Steven Vallas from the Northeastern University is the presider of the session.
